INTERBONE website privacy policy

Registered users supply their email address and will be emailed from time to time with news from the INTERBONE project. Your email address will not be revealed in these newsletters. If you do not wish to receive these emails, please contact us and we will remove you from our mailing list.

Consortium members who are upgraded to access the project intranet will be able to choose whether to allow other forum members to contact you by email or private messaging and the type of personal information that is available using your user profile. You can also opt to subscribe to specific forums or threads which means your email address will be used to send information when new posts are made. All email from the forum site includes a link that allows you to opt out from continued subscription to that thread or forum. You may modify your information and preferences by editing your user profile. Forum administrators may use your email address to contact you if necessary. Your IP address may be used to identify duplicate user accounts (which are forbidden under the forum rules).

Cookes are small files sent to a website user's computer or device to aid the function of the website or improve the experience of the user. Most browsers will be set to accept cookies automatically. The INTERBONE website uses Joomla as a content management system, and the Joomla template we use (JA Purity) requires the setting of a cookie ja_purity_tpl for all website visitors. The use of this cookie is essential for this template, and we cannot currently provide visitors an alternative that does not require cookies.

This site uses additional Joomla-related cookies when any visitor uses the login form, and especially the "Remember me" option below the login form. Cookies are used in the private intranet to record past activity in order to provide better service when users return to our site, such as indicating which threads you have read. Intranet users may modify your information and preferences by editing your user profile.

There are no other third party cookies used, and none of the cookies have a tracking function.

We only record email addresses and submitted usernames from the user registration process. We do not share any email addresses or any other personal information with third parties, except where required by a court order, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our website and applicable laws, or to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our website .

The INTERBONE website is not expected to attract anyone under 13. However, should anyone under the age of 13 register an account, for avoidance of doubt the privacy policy also applies in this case.
